Du Fu And The Evolution Of Chinese Antiphon Poetry In The Tang Dynasty

After the embryonic development in the Six Dynasties, antiphon poetry became an important poetic literary from in Sui and Tang Dynastic. This paper explores the status and effects of Tang Dynasty poet, Du Fu, in the historical evolution of this important category of antiphon poetry. This paper has three parts which are introduction, five chapters of the main body and conclusion.Introduction collects and analyzes relevant works and these about antiphon poetry in Tang Dynasty and before Tang Dynasty. Based on the existing researches, the necessity of the research on Du Fu’s antiphon poetries are summarized and the following research ideas and fields are raised.The second chapter summarizes the definition of antiphon in the existing literatures and explains the basic outlook of the beginning of antiphon poetry in existing literatures. And some questions about the norms of antiphon poetry are raised.The third chapter explains the evolution process and characteristics of choirs and poems in each period of Tang Dynasty according to the summarizing definitions and makes it as the background of the research on Du Fu’s antiphon poetries.The fourth chapter summarizes all of the antiphon poetries in Du Fu’s poetries according to the definition. Arrange all of assured articles and possible articles of antiphon poetries and exemplifies them.Based on the preamble, the fifth chapter analyzes the art of writing and the main characteristics of Du Fu’s antiphon poetries according to the articles and contents of Du Fu’s antiphon poetry.Combined with the revolution of antiphon poetry in Tang Dynasty, the sixth chapter analyzes the contributions of Du Fu in this evolution process.Conclusion. By the qualitative selecting of more than one thousand and three hundred Du Fu’s poetries, this paper confirms the quantity and specific articles of poem in antiphon poetry. Combined with the specific situation of antiphon poetry in Tang Dynasty, the important antiphon poetries of Du Fu are analyzed and the status and effects of Du Fu in the evolution process of antiphon poetry in Tang Dynasty are explained. Two aspects of opinions are come up in the end. Firstly, Du Fu has an important effect on the historical evolution of antiphon poetry in Tang Dynasty. Secondly, part of works of Du Fu has important effects on the emergence and development of several important forms of antiphon poetry.
