In the 19 th century, modern art have made substantial progress, and much attention has been paid to the declaration of surrealism which been read out by Breton in 1922. Surrealist believe that the nature of man is hidden deep in people’s psychological activity, as long as to get rid of constraints of external factors, such as the rational, moral, aesthetic, the essence of man can emerge. Surrealist, therefore, further study of the activities of the law, such as the dream, the subconscious psychological phenomenon and so on. Surrealist painting is based on the psychiatrist Freud’s psychoanalysis, and those paintings are not constrained by objective rationality constraint. The idea of "irrational" to seek objective painting is favored by many artists. As a very important part in modern western art genre, surrealism deeply influence on western art even world art. Although the surrealist art concept is introduced to China early, due to historical and political factors, surrealist painting flourished in China after art movement in 85 ideological trend. Through the analysis the elements of surrealism and themes in contemporary Chinese painting creation, the author tries to discuss the creation and lifestyle in Chinese contemporary surrealist painting.The article also discusses the related art ideological trend at that time and social reality environment in addition. Among the personality of contemporary Chinese surrealist painting, find commonality finally.This article mainly study from the following several aspects:First of all, explore the reason of surrealism’s birth and background of the birth. This article also discusses the background when the surrealist painting appeared, the reason why the surrealist painting appeared, the thought and idea behind it. In combination with the surrealist painting case, the author analyzes the reason why the 85 thoughts lead to surrealist painting prosperity in China.Then, this thesis analyzes the main creative element of surrealist painting: time, collocation and perversion of space, subjective colors and the surreal image symbols. By researching their theoretical significance, explore the image forms of domestic contemporary modern surrealist painting and deeper meaning behind it in combination with foreign famous works in surrealism.Next, by studying the ideal theory behind the surrealism drawing to analyze its three main themes: fantasy or called dreams, metaphor and emotional appeal. According to the analysis of foreign famous paintings, explore the surrealism painting creators’ way of creation and their psychological process.At last, in the above two chapters, on the basis of analysis and research of contemporary surrealist painting images in China, this thesis try to find out creators’ commonality from their individuality. Further more, this thesis studies creator’s social background, lifestyle and related art ideological trend at that time.The author tries to explore the formation of surrealism, and analyzes surrealist painting theory. Combined with analysis of contemporary Chinese painting surrealism image, and contact the creator of social background, living environment, the present values, the thesis finds common ground in different surrealist paintings, and systematizes art subjectivity of Chinese contemporary surrealism painting. Wish this article can be useful to multi-angle exploration of Chinese contemporary surrealist painting, so people could have a deeper comprehension of the contemporary development and changes of the surrealist painting in China.
