Translation Practice Report On Creating Jobs(Ⅱ) On Summer Davos Forum

Summer Davos Forum is held in China every year,which is an important platform for the communication between Chinese enterprises and international enterprises as well as aimed at promoting economic cooperation and exchanges among countries.In 2016,the Forum is held in Tianjin.The thesis on issues of creating jobs in Davos Forum analyzed and concluded the relations between industrial revolutions and employment,having significance for grasping industrial revolutions history,the backgrounds of creating jobs in countries and the development status of innovation and entrepreneurship in China.The author was entrusted by a professor from Management and Economy Department of Tianjin University to translate the thesis on the basis of which the translation practice report is completed.Thesis of Davos Forum--Creating Jobs(Ⅱ)mainly describes the influence of industrial revolutions on employment and the development issues of global innovation and entrepreneurship under the background of industry 4.0.This text is informative text with standard language and professional knowledge.This translation practice report is going to analyze the thesis’ s text features in the aspects of lexis,grammar and context.Based on the schema theory,this practice report activate translator from down to top about schemata in original language such as professional vocabulary,compound-complex sentences and background information,from top to down activate prediction of original schemata so as to comprehend source text.During schemata constructing,schemata in original language should matched with the slots in target language.When they does exactly match suitably with each other,the schemata should be processed by accretion,tunning and restructuring to fill into the slots;when original schemata values are default in target text,stereotype and schema rejection are used to fill the slots;in the two procedures,the original schemata are finally rebuilt in the target language.The application of schema activation and rebuilding in schematheory guarantee the quality of translation and achieve its guidance to informative text translation.The translation report has four parts.Chapter one serves as a brief introduction,including background,character and principal requirements of translation work.Chapter two makes an overall description of translation process from three aspects:preparation before translation including theoretical foundation and informative text features,translation implementation and proofreading after translation.After comprehending and analyzing the original text carefully,the author chooses translation tools and theory,namely schema theory.Chapter three is the core of this thesis.Based on schema theory,this practice report makes a specific analysis of the translation process from schema activation,rebuilding of schema values and slots matching and rebuilding of default values in slots.Chapter four makes an conclusion of experiences and gains of this translation practice.On the basis of schema theory,the translation practice systematically analyzes its application and guidance in the process of translation,as well as indicates its feasibility on translation through schema activation and rebuilding.
