Ancient Greece is one of the five major birthplaces of civilization. As a result, a lot of remarkable heritage are reserved. Religious festivals are the most representative among those heritage. This paper is based on Dionysian culture, discussing the activity of Dionysian ritual, and the performance of ancient Greek women in Dionysian celebration, as well as the reasons why women can participate in the celebration. In order to write a good article, this paper comprehensively use of lots of methods, such as historical, psychological, political, and sociological, and so on. Ancient Greece is a patriarchal society, men are rulers in economic fields, political decision, military action and sports. Women are subordinate. However, It can not be considered of little importance of women in ancient Greek society. On the contrary, they have certain social rights. Sometimes, they even play a more important role than men in some areas, such as the Dionysian celebration. Women have right to take part in Dionysian celebration which can not mean that their low social status is fundamentally changed. However,their loneliness and inferiority have been temporanrily alleviated and overcome because of the distance form the society.This paper consists of three parts: introduction, text, reference. The text is divided into three parts.The introduction introduces the reasons of choosing this topic, significance of the topic, particularly research status at home and abroad.The first chapter introduces the origin and development of worship of Dionysus ritual. And refer to to range of this study to the ancient Greek women, namely, from the perspective of Dionysian culture. The second section introduces the four main types of ancient Greek Dionysian festivals. That are flower festival, Leno’s day, rural Dionysian celebration, city Dionysian celebration. And the main contents and basic ceremony ofthis festivals.Women in ancient Greek society have an unequal position compared with men,such as political decision-making, property inheritance, marriage rights and so on. Most of time, they can only stay at home to do tedious chores. Dionysian festival provide an opportunity for women to go out of monotonous family life to take part in popular Carnival. Daily depression and worry are temporarily pass out of mind, they can relax themselves.they can vent depression, and ease the tension on weekdays. Dionysian festival greatly enriched cultural life of women and passed on the discontent to patriarchal society psychology of women, It has great positive significance to alleviate the social contradiction. It is conducive to the stability and development of ancient Greek society. Another significance of Dionysian festival is the born of ancient Greek drama. Frequent and wonderful theatrical performances make them have chance to go out of the house to watch the drama. women become the inspiration and source of drama because of enlightened drama atmosphere.The third chapter analyzes the factors of active participation in the Dionysus festival of female. Fearing for god, praying for high yield of grape and removing "dangers" make men attract women to attend the festival of Dionysus. In addition,sacrificing Dionysus are female responsibility. and they want to take part in Dionysian celebration to expand their social activities and communication space as well as rich their spiritual life. As a result, they actively join in the ranks of Dionysian ritual.
