We could find that Lu Xun has a deep attainment for image by searching sophisticated data in Lu Xun’s literature works. And they showed the close combination between language and image. For instance, there are many illustrations in Lu Xun’s novels, and Lu Xun designed the cover image of his literature works by himself. Such as Call to Arms, Wandering, Old Tales Retold, Wild Grass and Dawn Blossoms Plucked at Dusk etc.However, we must think about a serious problem. It is that the inheritance and transmission of all kinds of literature works. Could they still have the complete presentation with the changes of the times? Could the linguistic notations be dominant in the present which is full of images? And we have to know if the literature was disappearing because of the pressing images? These are urgent problems that the academics should find out and discuss.The article from the perspective of image symbol and try to explore the meaning of image extension about Lu Xun literature. Graphic image and Video image are the most important factors in Lu Xun literature. And Graphic image accounts for a large proportion of it, so this article mainly talk about Graphic image, including illustrations, woodcut and cover images.There are five chapters in this article. Depending on the relationship of image and literature, the first chapter mainly talk about the close combination between image and Lu Xun literature. From the second chapter to fourth chapter, we are trying to find out some main image elements in Lu Xun literature including illustrations, woodcut and cover images. The last chapter is based on the former ones, it summarized the whole article and discuss the inheritance and transmission of Lu Xun literature.
