The Body Writing In Lianke Yan’s Fiction

Lianke Yan is a very remarkable writer in contemporary Chinese literary circle who is a prolific author and keeps writing all the time. He is famous for giving concern on reality,magnificent imagination,unique narrative mode and language style. Lianke Yan gained a lot of domestic and international literary awards. Throughout Yan’s works,especially the mature works after the 1990 s,we can see the abundant body writing which includes various body disease views,the entanglement among body,power and desire in his novels. In Lianke Yan’s texts,the insights of human nature isn’t shown as some abstract concepts but lies in the fresh bodies in front of the readers. And the connotation of body in Lianke Yan’s creation has been fully present which is very different from the rational sensory stimulation in beauty writers. This article attempts to discuss the state of presentation of body aesthetics in Yan’s novels using the notion of body and probe into the causes and significance of body writing based on Yan’s novels,from the perspective of body.The text is divided into five parts:Part one is the introduction which summarizes the research status of Yan’s novels and the theoretical origin of body research and clarifies the definition of “body“ in this paper.Part two discusses the Relationship between body and disease,hackles the body disease landscape in his novels and focuses on laryngeal blocking disease, disability and aids which Lianke Yan mainly discussed in his novel and dig hard for the metaphorical meaning.Part three discusses the close contact between body and power.This part divides the characters to person in power and Powerless and discusses the depression,transformation and discipline on body by power,especially the relationship between power and sex.This part also focuses on the theme——body and shackled humanity by power.The emphasis of part four is the significance——aesthetic significance and cultural significance of Yan’s body writing to show the concern of the writer on human and society and how the writer enrich and promote the development of contemporary literature creation.The fifth part is the conclusion, which summarizes the significance of this research and tries to point out the limitation and deficiencies of Yan’s creation.While making a lot of research on Yan’s novel since 1980 s, achieving outstanding results, academic circles pay little attention to the perspective of body, only one master degree thesis choose this perspective. I hope this thesis provide some new angles to the comprehensive research of Lianke Yan’s.
