Application Of Video Materials For Primary Chinese Comprehensive Course In South Korea

The promotion of China’s comprehensive national strength stimulates increasingly more foreigners to learn Chinese. This is reflected in the growing number of both the oversea students in China and foreign learners who study Chinese in overseas. Based on the experience of teaching Chinese as a second Language(TCSL) in Hyosung Middle School of Daegu Metropolitan City in South Korea, the content of the teaching materials and different types of video materials are fully analyzed, the methods of rational use of video materials in TCSL are systematically discussed, and a teaching design with certain extending significance are formed.This thesis includes seven parts. The first chapter introduces the research background,reviewing the existing research findings on the application of video materials for TCSL. The second chapter is the theoretical basis of the application of video materials for Chinese comprehensive course in middle school of South Korea, such as Multi-intelligent Theory and Second Language Acquisition Theory. The third chapter is a summary of video materials used in TCSL. The fourth and the fifth chapters are of great significance in this thesis, among which the fourth chapter mainly introduces the structure of Chinese textbook Daily Chinese in Hyosung Middle School, illustrates the feasibility of the combination of video materials and textbook, and summarizes the application principles, and the sixth chapter, by combining the content and structure of the textbook with the selection principles of video materials, provides four teaching designs with certain practicability. The last part is the conclusion, which points out the limitations of this dissertation, and put forwards possibilities for further researches.
