Natural disasters occurred frequently, severely and constantly in the Yuan Dynasty, which had a great influence on all aspects of society. Facing disasters, it was traditionally advocated the values including fuyifushun, fucizixiao, the concept of prioritizing agriculture, the idea of valuing loyalty over money and loving people that had severe impact under the survival pressure, even appeared behavior of “the wife sold by his husband”, “father and son cannibalism”, “the thief peak” and “privately ate cattle”. The traditional value has caused a tremendous impact by serious disasters. Through combing the historical data, the author finds that more and more people threw all their resource into the disasters, including self-help groups of affected people spontaneously formed and official rescue groups, their relief activities clearly revealed the value that Confucian culture advocates. In that case, it shows that Confucian value still roots in people’s mind that influenced and restricted the behavior of people. This paper concludes two results as follows: the status of Confucianism had been unprecedented impact in the Yuan Dynasty, but it still stubbornly passed down, which corrected a false statement that Mongol’s rule destroyed Chinese culture to some extent; Although natural disasters were ruthless, it still could not destroy the heritage of Chinese culture, which reflected the Chinese traditional culture had a strong ability to adapt, and that provides a good reference for the reason why Chinese traditional culture can survive for thousands of years.
