The thesis is a study of the E-C hotel advertisement slogan translation from the perspective of Skopos theory. At the beginning, the thesis introduces the research background and significance; then it expounds the Skopos theory and the definition of advertisement and has an analysis on the functions and features of advertisement slogan with a wealth of examples of hotel advertisement slogan. Based on this, the thesis analyzes the differences between English advertisement slogan and Chinese advertisement slogan in language and culture. At last, with the guidance of the Skopos theory, the thesis puts forward the translation methods for hotel advertisement slogan including literal translation, free translation, supplementary translation, condensed translation and zero translation in order to better improve the hotel advertisement slogan translation.After a series of analyses, it is proved that the skopos theory is effective in guiding the translation of advertisement slogan; however there is deficiency in Skopos theory, some scholars criticize the Skopos theory for it didn’t have a rational analysis about translator. They think that the Skopos theory overrates the ability of all translators and does not take the differences of each translator in translation ability into consideration; therefore, there is still a lot to be improved in the future.
