Most of Rural adolescents are accommodation in the school, and most students’ one or both parents work outside hometown, these adolescents have to stay at home alone. special learning and living environment maybe highlight negative life events, such as bullying behavior, whether the collective environment would give rise to or persist bullying. As individuals encounter more negative life events, they become more susceptible to problems in their psycho-social development. Resilience perspective holds that some individuals can cope successfully and develop well, even with adverse experiences that put them at risk of negative outcomes. These individuals’ ability to avoid negative developmental outcomes, achieve good adaptation and positive development can be attributed to promotive factors that help them overcome the negative effects of risks exposure.Therefore, on the basis of resilience theory and the existing empirical literature, two researches were designed. In study 1, The relationship between negative life events and depression experienced was examined, the promotive role of peer support and active coping was also analyzed. In study 2, The relationship between victimization experience and depression symptoms among rural adolescents was examined. Additionally, we investigated the possible moderating role of peer support and active coping on the association between victimization experience and depression symptoms. The results indicate,(1) There are significant positive correlation between negative life events and depression, between victimization and depression.(2) Peer support has a direct negative effect on depression, but no interaction effect with negative life events was found. The moderated role of peer support between victimization and depression exist gender difference, for girls, peer support moderate victimization and depression, but not for boys.(3) We did find that active coping moderated the relationship between negative life events and depression. And the moderated role of active copy between victimization and depression do not exist gender differenceIn a word, negative life events and victimization are risk factors for rural adolescents, peersupport and active coping are two important promotive factors to consider for prevention and intervention.And note the difference between boys and girls in the intervention methods of victimization.
