Guang ya shu yi(hereinafter referred to as shu yi),which finished in the last years of the reign of Qianlong,is written by Qian Dazhao who spent more than 30 years for it. It gathered ancient codes and records widely to prove the materials,at the same time, adopt the social leaders’ achievements of his time(Qian Daxin, Lu Wenchao, Sun Zhizu, etc.). It carried out on the errors of each version of the text edit.Shu yi has great academic value which we can’t neglect.This article attempts analysis 211 groups of monosyllabic cognates from the perspective of Chinese etymology, and utilization of sememe, classification, statistics and other research methods,starting from the existing language materials. Analysis based on the modern theory of etymology,and draw lessons from previous and contemporary scholars. In the course of researching into language materials in Shu yi,according as the literature of pre-Qin,the Western and Eastern Han Dynasties and those interpretative materials made by later generations. From the two aspects of pronunciation and meaning,we traced back and summarized the rules.We tried to provide some valuable empirical materials, and hope that through this study to increase people’s indelible to Qian dazhao and the academic value of his work.This thesis consists of five parts:Part 1.a brief introduction to Qian Dazhao and Guang ya shu yi, expounds the research on the status quo, the value and research methods of this topic;Part 2. illustrate the properties, judgment, analysis basis of phonology and sememe;Part 3. disscuss the 211 groups of paronym exhaustively;Part 4. summarized the phonology and the rules of sound transition;Part 5. summarized the meaning types of cognate words. the conclusion part is about the futher studies and deficiency.
