Most present Chinese movie studies focus on movie industry, while the progress of the movie exhibitions is often neglected. The academic researches of movie exhibitions are still at the age of infancy, especially in China, much less when comes to “Golden Horse Film Festival”. Apart from Taiwan, there haven’t been any comprehensive and systematic research regarding the “Golden Horse Awards” and the “Golden Horse Film Festival”. This paper is in order to conduct a deep and overall research of the “Golden Horse Film Festival” by focusing on the history of “Golden Horse Film Festival”、 the correlation between “Golden Horse Film Festival” and Chinese films、the cultural connotation of the “Golden Horse Film Festival” and the continuation of the “Golden Horse” spirit. Also I will analyze the operating modes and evaluation concepts of the “Golden Horse Film Festival” and find out the uniqueness through the comparison of the “Golden Horse” and foreign、Chinese movie exhibitions. At last, I will discuss the derivative product of the “Golden Horse Film Festival”, such as the “Golden Horse Venture Conference” and “Golden Horse Film Academy” to provide both theoretical and realistic basis for domestic researches concerning the “Golden Horse Film Festival”.
