With the process of globalization and culture co-existence, the third wave of democratization in political field moves from developed countries to developing countries. However, many countries embrace democratization too radically or too quickly or copy the model of democratization from western countries completely which lead to social unrest and economic decline.“The Political Culture of Central Asia: A Case of Kyrgyzstan†is intended to discuss how Kyrgyzstan as a democratic oasis becomes a democratic islet.The report is divided into five parts: the first chapter introduces the background of the source text and significance of the translation; the second chapter introduces the preparation for the translation task and translating process; the third chapter summarizes the theory applied by the translator: under the guidance of Peter Newmark’s textual functional theory, the translator adopts communicative translation as the main strategy and semantic translation as a secondary strategy; the fourth chapter, the core of this report, is case analysis according to lexical level, syntactic level, textual level and cultural level which is based on theory, strategies and methods;the last chapter concludes gains and limitations of the whole practical report. |
