Analysis Of Painted Pottery Unearthed In Xinjiang

This paper takes five major painted potteries in Xinjiang from the Bronze Age to Iron Age as the research object, through the analysis of the archaeological data and image data to comb and evaluate the ornamentation of painted potteries in Xinjiang,and applies the fine arts discipline research methods to expansion study.This paper first combed the basic aspects(ceramic quality, ceramic type,pattern, structure and shape) of painted potteries in Xinjiang from the Bronze Age to Iron Age from the perspective of fine arts. Furthermore, it presents the cultural feature of Xinjiang painted pottery.The author thought that the painted pottery art in Xinjiang region is the earliest reflect of creation technology, aesthetic psychology and cultural connections. The main achievement of this paper is through images depiction of painted potteries in Xinjiang to sort out the adornment feature in preliminary. The pattern type of painted pottery in Xinjiang divided into geometry, plant, animal and symbol categories,which has no difference with pattern type described by art history. However, the painted pottery decorative of geometric types derived from a variety of types under the same motif pattern, which is the cultural characteristic of painted pottery in Xinjiang. The rich geometric patterns of the same motif pattern are quite rare in other regions.Through the comb of the decorative features of painted pottery in Xinjiang, to discover that the ornamentation of which under the same motif pattern suffered the influence of multiple cultures. In terms of the pattern structure and decoration, the painted pottery in Xinjiang was influenced by Majiayao culture and its regional cultures, even it has certain relationship with distant west Asia civilization. The unique artistic characteristics of painted pottery in Xinjiang, certified that the westernization of eastern culture, the east spread of western culture in Xinjiang.
