| Since the birth of the sports documentary in China, in different historical periods they have contributed a lot to promote the overall development of the sports enterprise in China. A good sports documentary tend to have a positive impact on the mainstream sports culture of a society. In today’s society, with the rapid popularization of the media platform, the way to get video documents also becomes broader. Sports documentaries, with their specific theme and image of representation, more profoundly affect the sports culture of the modern society. Taking the large-scale sports documentary "The Power of Sports" as case, this dissertation explores the impact of sports documentary produced on the dissemination of contemporary sports culture. Through the analysis of the focus, the lens language, and way of expression of every field of social sports culture and effect, the following conclusions are drawn: sports documentaries spread sports culture by the story, inherit the spirits of sports with the characters, record the development of sports with the lens, affecting the communication of sports culture to achieve the following goals: positive results to meet the emotional and aesthetic needs of the audience, communicate sports spirits to the public, encourage the public to participate in physical exercises. Deficiencies of sports documentaries in the dissemination of sports culture are pointed out, including narrow scope of subjects in recording, monotonous ways of expressions, elite-oriented way of making. All these had a negative impact on the communication of sports culture. In addition, I put forward suggestions to improve the status quo, which include extending the subjects of documentaries, exploring new methods of writing, and taking the popularized strategy and so on. |
