Confucianism is the essence of traditional Chinese culture. It is one of the greatesttreasures that Chinese nations devoted to the whole world.Being its founder,Confucius,his doctrines count for much in the Chinese history of culture and that ofthought.In recent years Chinese educational institutions have set up more than500Institutes of Confucian Studies in foreign countries,the ultimate goal of which is tocarry traditional Chinese culture forward to the world,giving people who interests inChinese culture and wisdom all over the world a chance to get acquainted with thebreadth and extensiveness of it.One of the essence of traditional Chinese culture isConfucianism; the essence of Confucianism is to be found in “ConfucianAnalects”. Its influence in the sphere of the world may be not to be dwarfed by anyother works of China. Therefore, it has vital practical significance in foreign culturalcommunication of Confucian classics after learning "the Analects of Confucius"cross-cultural communication and practice during education based on understandingthe classics and world culture.Introduction starts with the origins of topic selection from researching backgroundand significance. The first chapter discusses the worldwide spread of the process andimpact from the Confucian Classics and the historical background. Confucianismrepresented by Confucius, with methods of virtue and ritual indoctrination toreconstruction era ethics and social orders in ritual disintegration and moraldeterioration society. After its birth,Confucianism first spread to neighboring Asiancountries,forming a cultural circle of its features.Then, with the flooding in ofwestern missionaries,Confucian thoughts were gradually carried forward to theWest.The second chapter introduces the concept of "cross-cultural communication",focusing on the conversations between the two great civilizations,namely the easterncivilization and the western civilization, analyzing the culture shocks occurred in theprocess of them, clarifying the great impact of Confucianism upon westernphilosophy from “The Analects of Confucius”.“The Analects of Confucius”embodies the spirit of Confucianism, reveals the moral consciousness of mankind,helps people get rid of corruption and barbarism, towards to the civilization. Thesepoints of view have been accepted world widely. The third Chapter focuses ondiscussing the "Analects of Confucius" in foreign cultural communication in theforms of education application. Deeply discuss on how to solve cross-culturalcognitive problems (from both teachers and students) in the teaching process of the"Analects of Confucius’ teaching. Try to solve language, cultural, ideological barrierswhen students reading "The Analects of Confucius" by four methods of studentssurvey, integrating cultural with language learning, overall interpretation andcommunication based on core values. Conclusion emphasizes the influencethroughout the world from thoughts of Confucianism and Confucius, and looks intothe future prospects which Confucian classics introduced into the classes of “Teaching Chinese as the Second Language”.
