In this modern times,more and more Guangxinese at home and aboard have made outstanding contributions to the development of Guangxi.This documentary records their entrepreneurial story at home and aboard to show their characteristics and highlight the spirit of Guangxi as "united,harmonious,patriotic,open,inclusive,innovative,and pioneering".This report is a documentary translation report on Guangxinese in the World which is translated from Chinese to English.It consists of four sections with four characters' striving stories in Malaysia.They have made great achievements in business and fantastic contributions to the exchange and cooperation between China and Malaysia.To reveal the spirit of Guangxi,the translator completed the translation project from the perspective of cultural transmission,with the guidance of the Functional Equivalence Theory and the principle of readers-oriented.This report will focus on the documentary language and its application in the translation of titles,vocabularies and sentences expressions.As for the title,it mainly includes four sections and each describes a specific Guangxinese in Malaysia.As their characteristics and achievements are different,each section sets with diverse titles.Meanwhile,the original one usually expresses in a literary way.As for the vocabulary,the project contains a lot of words with obvious local characteristics,including some proper nouns and several culture-loaded words.In the respect of sentence expression,it can be divided into three aspects,one is spoken language which is long and illogical sentences,the second is some poetry expressions.In the interview,some characters like to use Chinese poetry to express their feelings.Third,there are also some dialect expressions.Located in the southwest China,Guangxi's dialect is complicated while some people speak a little dialect in the interview.All those aspects mentioned above ask the translator,with the readers-oriented principle,to translate by understanding the original text firstly and expressing in a conventional way.
