The Narrative Art Of Cheng Baoyi’s <Le Dit De Tianyi>

Francois Cheng, the early French immigrants from China in the 1949 s,who is the famous academic, poet and writer. He played a pivotal role in the exchange and dissemination of Chinese and Western cultures, known as "tireless ferryman between Chinese and Western cultures." Francois Cheng accepted of traditional Chinese culture in Boyhood and after studying abroad life experiences,which made him obsessed with the differences and commonalities between the Chinese and Western cultures,to discover a balance and breakthrough. His creation is not a simple narrative, but hybridized the individual experienced, learned and realized up, then fermented them, which form of a new and unique aesthetic narrative style. The styles contains traditional Chinese classical flavor, also has the liberal and enlightened temperament of West. "Le dit de Tianyi " is Francois Cheng used of French to write with a 200,000 words novel and gained the Prix Fémina in 1998. In my paper,from the perspective of narrative,to analysis the mix of Chinese and Western cultures and the life aesthetics.We are hoping to be able to further expand the perspective of "Le dit de Tianyi ", mining depth and breadth of it.The whole paper is divided into three parts of an introduction, body and conclusion. Introduction section briefly describes the object and status of research, put forward the significance of this writing, innovation and related methods employed.Text consists of four chapters, the first chapter uses the narrative structure, the traditional single linear plot structure with the complex of modern organic way,that forming a large frame. The second chapter from the narrative perspective to analyzes that "I" has multiple mirror images. The third chapter analyzes the reasons and meanings of the unique narrative imagery in the narrative text. Chapter Four is used the tackle feature of space to explore the life aesthetics and the madness’ s meaning behind in the power, while the author of the text reflected the "third space" is fusion the cultural differences complex of Chinese and Western. The conclusion briefly summarizes the merits of this thesis of "Le dit de Tianyi" novel.
