Research On The Development Problem Of Urban Newly Generated Social Vulnerable Groups

Given the objective factors of the social development and their own subjectivecondition, vulnerable groups exist in any age and society. With the reform andopening up of China and the process of socialist marketing economy, vulnerablegroups emerges at the historic moment. Especially in recent years, the rapid socialtransition and the social unceasingly highlighting contradictions bring about a serioussocial differentiation; some people are forced to be in the disadvantaged positionboth in the material and spiritual life. Previously, the farmers, the first generation ofmigrant workers, urban laid-off workers as well as their problems have attractedmuch attention and continuously further solution. Nowadays, there is anintergenerational transfer in the urban social vulnerable groups. The "80","90" as themain body of the new generation of urban migrants, including the youngrural-to-urban peasants and the "intellectual" migrant workers who have received thehigher education, have become the newly generated urban social vulnerable groups.They are faced in identity confusion, repelled by institution and culture andentangled with psychological unbalance. Although they rely on their own labor tomaintain their basic survival life but it is so difficult to adapt and coalesce into thecity indeed. In the aspects of education, social participation, the sharing of the socialachievements, they are restricted, which hinders their overall development seriously.The young generation, is an important and indispensable force of the construction ofChina’s urbanization, whose development concerns to the specific implementationof "people-oriented", the social harmony and national long-term development.Therefore, it is imperative to analyze their survival situation and explore theobstacles and causes of development in order to search proper path and method. Topromote comprehensive and scientific development of individuals in the venerablegroups and guide them to participate in the construction of harmonious societyactively not only have practical significance in economic growth and social stability,but also have profound historical significance in promoting people’s overalldevelopment and sustainable development of society.The problem of vulnerable groups has drawled focus of the government anddifferent scholars from different fields and many important theoretical achievements have been made, which provides theoretical support for our further research. Basedon age and region division to use literature research and comparison analysis,research the newly generated immigrants who were born in80s and90s and nowlive and work in large and medium-sized cities. Making use of the theories ofsociology, politics, ethics and the basic principle of Marxism comprehensively andstarting from the individual value and all-round development of them, this paperanalyzes their present conditions and the influence on the economic and socialdevelopment and aimed at exploring operational countermeasures which arebeneficial to the newly generated urban vulnerable groups.
