Information System Architecture describes the structure and relationships of itscomponents, and it is the principle and guideline of systems’ designment andinvolvement. One way to investagte the architecture is to modelize the informationsystems in visual. Methods of model the information system architecture viaually arevarious currently, but a uniform theoy or specification is empty. Therefore, thevisualized models lack stardazation, consistentness and veracity in semantic, whichreduce the efficience and quality of architecture developed badly.In order to settle this problem, this paper proposed the thoey of notationmeta-modelling of information system architecture and corresponding tools. Thevisual model using by the thoey of notation meta-modeling can solve the problemsexisted in architecture description, such as lack of stardazation, consistentness andveracity in semantic. The viaual model built in this way can also customize variousstyles in presentation. Main work and innovation in this paper includes:(1) Proposed the thoey of notation meta-medeling of information systemarchitectureThe notation meta-modeling of architecture refers to the thoey of meta-modelingto stardize the process of visual modeling the architecture. We introduced the mainidea of architecture visual modeling under the mechanism of meta-modeling, andpresent the framework of notation meta-modeling of architecture, then proposed thebasic process of architecture notation meta-modeling under the mechanism ofmeta-modeling.(2) Study the method of building the notation meta-meta-model of informationsystem architecture.Architecture notation meta-meta-model provides the specification of notationmeta-model, it is the main part of the framework of architecture notationmeta-modelling. From the perspective of requirement of architecture visual modeling,we analyzed the abstract source of graphic meta-elements and the standard ofmeta-meta-model with high quality. We investigated two important parts in notationmeta-meta-model: basic meta-elements and domanial meta-elements.(3) Design the developing method of architecture modeling tools based on thoeyof notation meta-modeling.Based on the thoey of notation meta-model, we design the developing method ofinformation system architecture description model. The tools we built can support two functions: notation meta-modeling and graphics meta-modeling. We analyzed themodeling tools from three perspectives: technical, service and tool. Finally we studiedthe critical techniques such as interface customization, tools generation and datastoration.
