Recent years have witnessed the trial of adopting theoretical psychology andexperimental psychology in practice and the effect of psychology on exposing and crackingdown the criminal; with the legalization, scientification and socialization of prison systems,the research on the mental health of prisoners has become a hot topic of scholars, and it hasan important practical significance on the prison administration to guarantee the enthusiasmand adaptability of prisoners toward the prison life under high pressure.Based on her six-month internship in Gansu Women’s Prison,the author hopes to findthe factors influencing the active emotions and explore the relations of personal trait,emotional regulation and positive emotions of female prisoners by the use of EysenckPersonality Questionnaire(EPQ),Chinese version of Positive and Negative AffectSchedule(PANAS-C) and Emotion Regulation Questionnaire (ERQ) as well as thequestionnaire and interview on310prisoners in5sprisons.The author finally achieves such results: the personality of female prisoners aredifferent from that of ordinary people; the prison policemen should use unique means onthe emotional experience and regulation of new female prisoners; different growthenvironment and educational level influence the use of cognitive reappraisal strategy offemale prisoners; personal trait and suppressive expression have predictive effects on theactive emotion of female prisoners,in which personal trait plays a remarkable role. Bymeans of questionnaire and interview, the research is aimed to discover and find out thefactors of influencing the positive emotions of female prisoners and provide a theoreticalbasis for the prisoners to better adapt to life in jail reform and education reform andregulatory safety of prison policemen toward the specialty of the prisoners.
