Research Of Community Media Agenda Setting And The Influence Under The Background Of New Urbanization

Under the background of new urbanization, our government governance andcommunity building are facing many new problems.Community media as a form ofmedia which rooted in the community, close to and serve the communityresidents,bear an unshirkable responsibility in terms of optimizing governmentgovernance and the building of a harmonious community. Then, at present in ourcountry, if community media have given enough attention about the new andimportant problems under the new urbanization background,such as the ecologicalenvironment, employment, transportation, neighbourhood relations etc?How to set theagenda of different forms of media about these issues? What about the influence oncommunity construction?Hangtou town now is in the stage of rapid urbanization, and its community mediaconstruction has made certain achievements. In the case of Hangtou town communitymedia construction, this paper studied its media agenda setting and the influenceusing the method of text analysis and case study.We found,first, for the problems ofdifferent nature, different media attention is not the same; next,there is a bigdiscrepancy between the public and the government issues; then,in the informationage, the network opinions has an important impact on government decisionmaking;last,agenda setting of media has both positive and negative effects on thecommunity construction.At the end of the article,we put forward several suggestions:Firstly, the government should improve the ability to deal with issues ofresidents;Secondly, the government agenda setting should be more close to theresidents;Finally, rich media forms, strengthen the network politics platformconstruction and the education to the residents.
