Research On Integrated Management Of Hengyang City Traffic Congestion Problems

With the rapid development of the urbanization, industrialization and the carindustry, traffic jams become more and more serious in our cities and the problemspreads from the large cities to the middle-sized and small cities. As a prefecture-levelcity in Hunan, Hengyang City inevitably has the urban fault, the traffic jams.Comprehensive improvement methods to solve this problem have been put forwardbased on the discission of the current situation and problems of the public traffic,thetraffic modes of residents and vehicle retention in Hengyang and the analysis of thetypical cases at home and abroad.The essence of the study to the comprehensive improvement methods of thetraffic problems in Hengyang is to study the land use patterns and the traffic modes ofresidents in Hengyang. This paper researches the comprehensive improvementmethods of the traffic jams in the city along this line of thought raise theproblem,analysis the problem and solve the problem. In the first, part it defines trafficjams and comprehensive improvement methods based on the analysis of the previousrelated literatures; then it discuses the theories related to methods to solve the trafficjams and there are transportation supply management theory, transportation demandmanagement theory and traffic control theory. In the second part, the current situationof the traffic problems of Hengyang are discussed. Firstly, the basic aspects areresearched, such as transportation planning,vehicle retention and the traffic modes ofresidents; secondly, there are the current situation of the traffic jams that includingthe principal time and road of the traffic jams.thirdly, reasons why the traffic jamsoccurs are researched, which including transportation planning, road construction,transportation control and public transportation. Fourthly, the main cases related tothe solution of the traffic problems at home and abroad are discussed and thesolutions include scientific transportation planning, good transportation facilities,high-efficiency transportation management. Lastly, comprehensive improvementmethods are put forward and the methods involve making comprehensivetransportation planning, setting up scientific transportation network, establishingall-inclusive public transportation, exploring humanization management of privatecars,establishing scientific transportation demand management mechanism andimplementing strict traffic safety management.
