Luo Longji And The Middle Parties-comprehensive Study Of Thought And Action

In the30and40s of the20th century, the china political forces were major includingthere political forces such as the Kuomintang, the Communist party and the intermediate forceand the interactions between them dominated the China·s political development. Among them,the intermediate forces and the middle parties had a critically important position in thestruggle between the Kuomintang and the Communist party. In addition, it developed to thebackbone in the democratic camp from the May Fourth Movement. As one of the middleparty leader, the political activity and though of Luo Longji showed typical significance atthat time. In this paper, based on the background of specific political environment in the30and40s of the20th century in China, it viewed to evaluate the status and influence of Luo inthe history of modern China comprehensively through the investigation of his politicalactivity and democracy though in the middle party.Luo Longji formed his understanding of the relationship between political party and thewestern democratic politics as well as the necessity of democratic political party to theChina·s democratic political construction based on the breeding of democracy thoughtproduced from his schooling experiences in early years and the following influence ofdomestic political environment after he returned to China. He involved in the creating of theNational Socialist Party and the China Democratic League due to his pursuit of the westerndemocratic politics. He and the members of the National Socialist Party and the ChinaDemocratic League were committed to the two constitutional movements and the politicalconsultative conference in order to brought China into constitutionalism. During the partyactivities, he considered and designed The Third Wayμ to the founding of the nation planaimed to developing China into a very authentic democracy. It provided a lot of reasonableproposals to the China·s democratic political construction.On the whole, Luo·s political activity and democracy thought were developed to realizethe theme of democracy and his life pursuit was to build Chinaμ democracy. Under thebackground of serious invasion and frequent civil war, it was insignificant to pursuedemocracy by individual. By the means of political parties, Luo wished to promote thedemocracy movement through the organization form and right campaign. Luo was the mostactive member in the middle parties and the parties which he participated in played animportant role in the resistance to Japanese aggressing and reconcilement of the conflict between Kuomintang and the Communist party. It owned important place in the China·sdemocratic process. Although Luo·s political ideas wasn·t implemented eventually, thepolitical thought proposed by he and a group of contemporary intellectuals who influenced bywestern thought brought certain reference significance to the development of today·s socialistdemocracy with Chinese characteristics.
