After the Second World War, America replaced France and Britain; it became one of the two superpowers to control the Middle East affairs. America's Middle East strategy and political aim had always included the following two points: keep the Middle East region away from the Soviet Union Group and make sure the western countries could buy oil at a reasonable price. After the"9.11", America realized that terrorism had already became a major threat to the country's national security and interests. Thereby, America's strategic aims in this region are more than power and geopolitics. Most of the terrorists who launched the"9.11"attack came from the Middle East and in the eyes of America, the middle east Islamic region is the"seedbed"for terrorism in the world. After a gestation period, America took out the"Great Middle East Initiative", and the initiative aimed at eradicating the terrorism and protecting America's Middle East hegemony, through the way of"democratize the Islamic world". This new"strategy of democratizing the Middle East"is destined to influence regional politics as well as international relations. At the same time,"democratization"is an indispensable part for Middle East countries'political modernization process. One thing can be sure: like all the other countries'political development and reform, the Middle East Islamic countries will get on the"democratization"train sooner or later. How to solve those problems in the process of"democratization"is of great importance to the development of the Middle East countries. (Especially: how to solve the"paradox of democratization"and how to distinguish"Americanization"and"democratization"etc.) Confronting the"Greater Middle East Initiative", the Middle East countries'internal politics is experiencing huge impact and pressure. Due to the developing rules of"democratization"and the special political situations in the Middle East Islamic countries, a wrestling between Middle East countries and the America"Greater Middle East Initiative"unwrapped.
