Analysis On The Indonesia’s National Development Strategy In The Era Of Susilo

On October10,2004Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono declared himself president of Indonesia, and on July25,2009he won the presidential election again. It has been ten years since Susilo become the president of Indonesia, and in this period, he makes grand plans and a series of specific measures to improve the country. At the political level, Susilo takes many strategic tools to safeguard the unification of the country and consolidate the democratic achievements, such as taking a political union, fighting corruption and easing racial conflict and so on. At the economic level, Susilo makes a series of national development plans and takes many measures to recover and develop national economy of Indonesia, such as strengthening the construction of infrastructure facilities, rectifying and standardizing bank financial institutions, improving the investment environment, boosting tourism industry, upgrading petrochemical industry and developing sixth economic corridor. At the diplomatic level, Susilo still adheres to an independent foreign policy which successive governments of Indonesia uphold. Meanwhile, he constructs the full range of diplomatic strategy system. These strategies help Indonesia to protect national interests, effectively coordinate region national relationship and the relationship between the countries in the region with great powers outside the region, and maintain security and stability in the region.In the security level, Susilo puts forward a new national security strategy, further improving the defense system and the national defense budget, developing military capability, and effectively combating terrorism and separatism. These make great contributions to the protection of national security. Through a series of reforms, Indonesia’s comprehensive national strength develops sustainably in stability, becoming the fastest-improving economy in the G20and one of the fastest growing countries in the world after entering the new century. Susilo takes extensive participation in international affairs and is committed to solving global problems. Indonesia’s international status has improved and established the image with a friendly Muslim and a peaceful democratic country.
