In1999, China has entered the aging society recognized internationally, it is currently the largest elderly population in the country. According to "wupu" and "liupu" data of National Bureau of Statistics, the degree of aging population accelerates the development during2000-2010. At the same time, elderly population distribution has a significant spatial difference. The impacts on the social structure of urban and rural and rural development that population aging takes are the important questions that should study and response in China’s new urban development. According to the actual situation, such as the growth trend over the elderly population, spatial distribution and the evolution of the law, arranging targeted pension service facility is also currently a hot issue in the field of urban and rural planning.In recent years, the size of the elderly population in Hangzhou increases rapidly, elderly population distribution shows a significant spatial difference. Therefore, this paper takes Hangzhou as an empirical study, researchs the growth trends and the evolution of the spatial distribution of the elderly population during2000-2010. Based on this research, the paper puts forward suggestions for the actual pension facility planning layout.Firstly, based on the date of "wupu" and "liupu", through the application of statistical software SPSS and geographic information systems software GIS, the paper brings out distribution of the elderly population spatially and graphically, and directly reflects the distribution of the elderly population in Hangzhou.Secondly, by analyzing the spatial distribution of the elderly population density, the paper reveals the evolution law of spatial distribution. With classic theoretical models of population density, it does model fitting of elderly population density distribution, results the specific model that meets the rule changes of elderly population in Hangzhou.Once more, on the basis of the circle-type distribution that Hangzhou elderly population presents, the paper selects typical areas, does depth analysis about elderly population structure, median age, household dependency ratio, then reveals the specific characteristics of different spheres of pension needs.Finally, based on the conclusions, the paper proposes the basic recommendations about pension facility layout strategies that adapts to the actual development of the aging population in Hangzhou...
