Investigation And Research Of Ethnic Relationship In Xiangxi Tujia And Miao Autonomous Prefecture

The report of the Eighteenth National Congress of the Communist Partyclearly pointed out that “We should fully and faithfully implement theParty’s policies concerning ethnic groups and uphold and improve thesystem of regional ethnic autonomy. We should, keeping to the goal of allethnic groups working together for common prosperity and development，conduct intensive education about ethnic unity and progress, speed updevelopment of ethnic minority areas, and protect the legitimate rights andinterests of ethnic minorities. We should consolidate and develop socialistethnic relations of equality, unity, mutual assistance and harmony so that allethnic groups in China will live and develop together in harmony.” Toimplement the spirit of the eighteenth congress of Chinese Communist Partyout, Xiangxi Tujia and Miao Autonomous Prefecture (Xiangxi autonomousprefecture for shot bellow) always adhere to the policy based on the“equality, unity, mutual assistance, harmonization” throughout the wholeprocess of national work. Meanwhile, the coadjutant county tries to unite allpeople, dissolve contradiction, straighten mood. Therefore, the developingenvironment will be created for the all career to develop. In history andreality,Xiangxi autonomous prefecture has always been a national relationssensitive area. And Xiangxi autonomous prefecture is a typical minority nationality region. The priority among priorities of our investigation andstudy is culture adaptation between the minority nationality and the hannationality and how to how to build the harmonious national relations.Consequently, in order to fully grasp the development situation ofXiangxi autonomous prefecture national relationship and collect supportingmaterial for this paper, the author penetrated into xiangxi tujia and miaoautonomous prefecture in the middle of July to the end of August in2013.Political, economic and cultural development and social environment of thetujia nationality, the Miao nationality and the han nationality in this regionare investigated and studied thorough a variety of methods, such as in-depthinterviews, open forum, collect material. Then, the first-hand materials werecarefully summarized and analyzed. From the Marx’s Ethnic Theory andpolicy perspective, the author analyzes and explores the national relations inthe regional situation and the existing problems, and put forward someconstructive countermeasures, so as to promote the county and the nationalautonomous areas to get the benign development of national ethnic relationsand constructing a harmonious society.Specifically, this paper is composed of the following parts:Introduction, the topic background, significance and the research trendsof domestic ethnic relations has been introduced, and the thought, method,innovation points of research and the difficulty in writing process has beenexpounded. Chapter one, briefly described the Xiangxi Autonomous Prefecture’snatural geographical conditions and ethnic and population distribution, andthe historical organization system of Xiangxi Autonomous Prefecture wasalso been related.Chapter two, Ethnic relations of Xiangxi Autonomous Prefecture hasbeen carried on the historical review and the ethnic relations characteristicsof Xiangxi Autonomous Prefecture have been summarized.Chapter three, Analyzing from history, economy, politics, culture andpsychology five aspects, the main problems in the development of ethnicrelations have been summarized.Chapter four, suggestion about promoting the Xiangxi AutonomousPrefecture harmonious ethnic relations development have been put out. Thetrend of future development prospect and forecast of ethnic relations werepresented.In a word, the mainstream of Xiangxi autonomous prefecture ethnicrelations is harmonious, and which is consistent with current China’s ethnicrelations harmonious and stable trend, the achievements are certain, however,in the long run, there are still need to be solved urgently problem during theethnic relations development process of Xiangxi autonomous prefecture. Itis very important to promote ethnic relations development of the Xiangxi aut onomous prefect ure.
