Investigation Of Chinese Women’s Social Role In Evolution Since The Reform And Opening Up

Social role belongs to the theory and discourse system of sociology. The evolution of women’s social role is an important symbol of social transformation. Before the reform and opening up, Chinese women changed to the multiple roles from the single role, and then faced to the roles conflict caused by the multiple roles. The women’s social role are summarized from four aspects of politics, occupation, education and media, and they are introduced individually from different fields of social life since the reform and opening up. In terms of political participation, more and more female participate in political decision widely. In terms of education, women education rights are protected and female students get rid of the public stereotype gradually. In terms of occupation, women are involved in the social labor widely and realize their own social value, competing with men fairly. In terms of media, women develop their images from single to diverse and receive protection of equal public rights. In this way,the evolution of female social role forward into the mainstream since the reform and opening up. There are a lot of reasons. To returning to labor as the economic security. To improving the women quality and strengthen the education of women as the basic conditions.To completing the political, economic and legal equality for the institutional guarantee. The general working women wake up as main factor; The women complete freedom as the target. But there still have some obstacles to the evolution of the women social roles. Some women are still on a subordinate economical position. Some people have insufficient understanding of women development. Failure to realize the equality stipulated in the laws and regulations. Some women still take for granted their subordinate status. The women liberation still needs a long process of history. The factors make female social role evolution in the contradiction. Therefore, in order to overcome the obstacles and to promote women social role development, our government should maintain the rights and interests of women’s political participation. To give fully play to women’s career potential and maintain employment rights. To further promote the socialization of housework and advocate marriage life. To further strengthen the education of women and build environment for female talent growth. To further improve the media leading role. It provides a new perspective for the theory research and expands the study of women’s liberation, which has significance to implementing the basic national policy of gender equality, to promoting gender equality and to building a harmonious society.
