A Study On The Association Of Returned Overseas Chinese Diasporas

Returned overseas Chinese diasporas are compared to the focus interms of returned overseas Chinese, with the reform of social economicdevelopment and the state farms, a growing number of returned overseasChinese left the state farms to the city to seek survival and development.Returned overseas Chinese diasporas in Pingxiang are Vietnameseoverseas Chinese, who are mainly from the state farms of Guangxi andother provinces in the1980s and1990s, they are mainly engaged inborder trade activities. On the basis of the materials from fieldwork,Supplemented by historical documents, and by applying the networktheory and structural functionalism, besides, by analyzing the impactwhich social networks of returned overseas Chinese diasporas plays to theconstruction of the association’s social networks, we can analyze theassociation how to construct their own social networks through socialactivities and social function. Eventually, we can conclude that thereturned overseas Chinese diasporas have a strong tolerance andopenness, the primary social network based on blood and affinityrelationships, and the secondary social network based on workingrelationships, which play an important role in returned overseas Chinesediasporas’ social mobilities, survival and development. As well, thesocial networks constructed by the association of returned overseasChinese diasporas are expanding, which help promote and maintain theidentity of returned overseas Chinese diasporas, moreover, they play animportant role in community integration, the development of regional society and fruit border trade in Vietnam-China.
