Abstract:Dong is an industrious minority, which distribute in the south of China, and has a long history. In the development of history, It has its own unique set of skills on social governance. The settlement of disputes is a typical example. As the Dong society always takes the harmonious as a main theme of life. So the people of Dong tends to choose the civil mediation to settle the disputes. Kuans of Dong is a special traditional mediation system. It settles many civil disputes, and maintains the stability and development of the ancient social order. Under its influence, nowadays, there are two ways of civil mediation in the Dong society. Such as the Zhai Lao mediation and the village committee mediation. They originate from the traditional kuans of Dong. The Zhai Lao mediation is a bridge that between the kuans of Dong and the village committee mediation. The village committee mediation is kuans of modern body. Through the civil mediation, our country can effectively manage the national minority areas. so our country should pay more attention to it, and make full use of it. This paper will explore the civil mediation mechanism of the Dong from the angle of procedure law. By analyzing the Characteristic culture of Dong civil mediation and the present running situation, to make the Dong civil mediation be continually perfected. Aim to achieve good interface between the Dong folk mediation mechanism with the national formal dispute resolution mechanism. So as to promote the stable development of national areas.
