Dong minority is one of 56 nationalities in China.They mainly live in Guizhou,Hu'nan and Guangxi provinces(or autonomous regions),and sporadic distribution in Guangdong and Hubei Provinces.Among this,there are some autonomous prefectures(counties)co-established with the Miao minority,and several Dong minority autonomous counties.The population of Dong minority is nearly 3 million in China.It is generally agreed that Dong minority developed from an ancient Yue people,they are ethnic origins mainly have indigenous theory and exotic theory.And specific way of saying this is also varied in the exotic theory,they are mainly discusses the migration of Dong people in different areas.Dong Autonomous County of Sanjiang is located in the north of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region,the junction of Hunan,Guizhou and Guangxi provinces and regions,on the edge of Yunnan-Guizhou Plateau.It is the most concentrated place where Dong people live in Guangxi.Among the 400,000 people in this county,the Dong minority accounts for 57.75%(2017).The proportion of population ranks first among the five Dong Autonomous Counties in China.The name of Sanjiang evolved from the San Kouzhai in the late Northern Song dynasty.And the Dong people of Sanjiang mainly live in eight townships(ethnic townships),Linxi,Bajiang,Dudong,Liangkou,Yangxi,Meilin,Fulu and Tongle.Besides,smaller part Dong people live together in Laobao,Doujiang and Danzhou Township.Wu's is one of the popular surnames of the Dong people in Sanjiang(the other one is surname Yang).They are almost found everywhere in the county of Dong minority inhabited areas,with distinct personality and strong representative-ness.By relevant historical events of Dong minority with surname Wu in Sanjiang research,exploring the origin of Dong generations passed before they ancestors came to Hunan province at last.Since then,the ancestors name WuRencen migrating from there to the south,arrived Heli village,Sanjiang,Guangxi.The Recording Book of Wu's ancestral temple in Meilin village,Meilin township has tracing back the ethnic origin to the Pre-Qin dynasty,went though Jiangsu,Henan and other places.Our family name Wu comes from family name Ji.We came from Taihe county,Ji'an prefecture,Jiangxi province.Because our ancestors made mistakes there,they were banished to the south,the older people in Nongtuan village,Linxi township said.The above statements are revealing that the Dong people surnamed Wu are not indigenous,they have close relationship between the surname Wu of the Han nationality.It was a thoughtful question.According to nongovernmental sayings,the Dong people of surname Wu lived in Sanjiang for no more than five or six centuries,and harmony with another large surname-Yang.Even the relationship with other Dong,Han and other nationalities are also very friendly.Such ethnic relations may be one of the reasons for the unclear national boundaries.Dong minority,as a single ethnic group,has been active in history with a stable community of people formed at a certain stage of social and historical development.It has common characteristics in historical origin,mode of production,language,culture,customs and psychological identity.The origin of Dong minority is the starting point of their culture maintaining people's.Since the Tang and Song dynasties,the proper terms Dong Ren,Dong Min and Dong Ke in the historical records and documents of the Han nationality,indicate the Dong minority is one of the most important ethnic minorities in south of the Five Ridges area,China.Inferred from this that at least in the Tang and Song dynasties,the Dong minority had been formed.Because there is no clear literatures,most Dong people can't tell the exact origin of their ancestors,today.The history of ancestors immigration from other places as mentioned by Dong people surname Wu in Sanjiang is not necessarily true.In the historical development of Dong minority,because there are strong Han culture in the east,strong Zhuang minority in the south,Buyi minority and Shui minority in the west,Tujia minority and Miao minority in the north,which make Dong minority no longer develop to the outside,and then gradually narrow the area of living into today's Dong people inhabited areas roughly.The exotic theory should be the internal migration of the Dong people,not the development of the Dong people after the foreign people entered the Sanjiang area.On the other hand,Dong minority areas are widely influenced by Han culture.The reason is that the past dynasties governments continuously sent officials to the Dong minority inhabited areas,as well as the officers and soldiers who came to suppress the revolt of the Dong minority.The implementation of station troops system made the system and culture of the Han nationality prevailing in the Dong minority area.The increase of contacts with the surrounding ethnicgroups,the situation of mutual tolerance,contain each other in Dong ethnic areas has been formed.Forced and voluntary changes in ethnic composition occur from time to time,and the origin of the Dong minority is covered with a layer of mist.Discrimination and analyses of the origin of Dong minority with Surname Wu in Sanjiang,it can be seen that the complexity of Dong minority origin,but also reflects the difficulty of ethnic
