The Electoral College system is a unique presidential election system thatestablished by the U.S. Constitution, it plays an important role in the United Statespresidential election. By studying the emergence and development of the electoralcollege system,we can explore the process of democratization and find out how canelectoral college system reflect the U.S. Government democracy, especially in thestate-level. First of all, a detailed description of the process of the Electoral Collegesystem will be generated and analyzed the causes of why delegates chose theElectoral College system. In1787the Constitutional Convention,the representative ofthe state after four rounds of fierce debate, ultimately by the U.S. Constitution,whichtake the form of indirect election presidential election electoral college system,anddeveloped a detailed electoral rules.The reason why the delegates at the ConstitutionalConvention on the fierce debate on the presidential election,on the one hand,thespecific ideas behind the disputants often hide different interest demands;on the otherhand,the debate often is the use of different ideas,such as the Puritan politicaltradition,the British common law tradition,the Enlightenment tradition. The views ofthe two sides to reach a final compromise are inseparable from the debate,but alwaysaround the political principles and argument. Then,according to the time context,Several events can be elected which have a major impact on the Electoral Collegesystem,thinking Electoral College system in the development process by the problemsand solutions. After the establishment of the Electoral College system,with thedevelopment of American political society,the Electoral College system also will beseveral major changes,which promote the development of the Electoral Collegesystem. Since then,the Electoral College system at the state level has been morewidely used. Although the United States Constitution provides in the presidentialelection,the use of the Electoral College system,but did not state how to makerequests on behalf of the electors elected,the Constitution allows each state accordingto the actual situation;select the appropriate state election to elect electors. Finally,through specific case studies,we can experience Electoral College system ofrules specific to the state level. Because in the U.S. presidential election, each stateElectoral College system plays a complex and compromise,and be able to maintainthe constitutional balance of roles,so it is still an important part of the federal system.The Electoral College system is a compromise on the Constitutional Conventiondelegates of various electoral programs after comprehensive consideration,the greatestdegree of electors representing the interests of the people, but also to maintain theautonomy of the states,this system allows each state can sound in the presidentialelection. In the process of political democratization,Electoral College system alsoreflects the U.S. Government,especially the state-level political democracy.
