Research On The Correlation Between Government Trust And Social Trust

Under the background of the current crisis of confidence in China and based on a largesample of data about31provinces from Chinese General Social Survey (CGSS)2010Coverings,this study is for the relationship between the of trust government and social trust issues.Thisarticle makes full use of descriptive statistics, correlation analysis, factor analysis, multiple linearregression and logistic regression methods of mathematical statistics, creates a model on twolevels of the micro-individual and macro-provincial.We test the government trust’s positiveeffect of social trust empirically. The main conclusions are as follows:(1)China’s current level of trust in government is high and presented to be trust the centralgovernment more than the local government, while the level of social trust is relatively low witha clear Grade structure.(2) Age, education, income, religion, nationality, party membership,account status, sense of fairness and social life of happiness have a significant impact on socialtrust, while Individual background variables and other subjective attitude variables affect little.Social interactionwhich is regarded as the most important source of social trust by sociologicaltheory has no significant effect on social trust in this study.(3) Whether at the micro-individuallevel (the whole sample or Break up the samples by urban and rural areas), or the macro-provincial level, government trust has a positive significant effect on social trust and works as apowerful predictor on it. The more people trust the government, the more they inclined to trustothers. This is the most important conclusions of this paper.This article provides direct policy implications of the conclusions: Since the growth of trustin government can promote social trust, and social center path of generating social trust withlittle success, raising the level of people’s trust in government is the main effective way topromote social trust. To overcome China’s current trust difficulties, a fair, just, honest andefficient government plays a significant role in propping the fall of morality.
