Sino-US relationship is not only a matter of foreign issues, but also akey factor affecting the international situation. Based on the investigationto the media of the two countries, it gives a unique and important analysisof the interaction between China and the United States. This papertakeson People’s Daily and New York Tims as objects and their reports onChina’s top leader’s visit to US as example, and tries to obtainthesimilarities and differences on the issue of news frame of the two mediaby adopting the method of content analysis and comparative analysis.Based on scholars’ interpretationon frame theory, this paper putsforward to analyse reports of the two media from four levels, includingoverview frame, situational frame, review frame and bilateral issuesframe. This paper findthat two newspapers have significant differences onfour frames.On the whole, the People’s Daily reports’ angel of presentingthe types of headlines and blurbs, the characteristics of the subject isrelatively single, and it emphatically presents the bilateral interaction, andmainly show positive attitude and more bilateral cooperative issuesreports. The New York Times has more diversity on the types of headlinesand blurbs, theme and news sources, and it emphatically reviews Chineseissues, such as the Chinese government and officials with negativeattitude.This study also analyse the causes of frame difference from themedia system, foreign and domestic political situation, trying to find outthe factors influencing media frames.
