The population explosion and the ageingprocess day by day in our country make our government has to face the situation thatthe death toll increases progressively year after year. Whereat the demands on layingashes in city and the cemetery requirements bring heavy pressure to the ground to bearon. The rareness on the earth and the deteriorating environment put the citydevelopment into a tight corner. We have to confront an awkward position that thegone contest the ground with the alive. Envisaging the realities, it’s an importantassignment for the undertakers of the moment to control the use of the groundeffectively, and enhance the forested area in our country, and lead an active concept ofenvironmental funeral.First of all, the article depicts the funeral culture in our country and the history ofburial form. Then, this thesis analyses how the traditional philosophy, faith, and thegeomancy influenced the funeral form through the thousands of years. And then thearticle educes the origin of the traditional funeral form. After that, the article expatiatesa series of problems emerged with the development of the funeral form, such asdestroying the environment and the trespass on the ground. These actualities not onlystunted the economy, but also imperil the safe life of people and their leaving space. Inorder to protect the environment we are relying on, we advance the new ideas ofecotypic funeral or ecotypic cemetery.Divergence between the ecotypic funeral and the traditional funeral blocks theeffective popularization of the former. The author hopes to further clarify theimportance of funeral innovation and the necessity of changing existing burial form byanalyzing a variety of problems that might emerge if we keep up the traditional burialform. Finally, the author offers some points for attention when designing the ecotypicfuneral. The author also gives some advices on guiding the demos to accept theecotypic funeral.
