Study On The Process Of Non-direct Interest Conflict Evolution And Escalation

Non-direct interest conflict is one of the most highlight types of social conflict in the domestic social transformation period, the devastating consequences of it generate in the process of evolution and escalation has impede the normal operation of society, but it is difficult to deal with the non-direct interest conflict which characterized by complexity and variability for the traditional disposal way. Therefore, in-depth study the general rules of the evolution and escalation of the non-direct interest conflict, actively innovate the social management mode, not only contribute to resolve conflicts effectively, but also has important practical significance for comprehensively constructs the harmonious society.Based on inter-external experiences of division of the stage of conflict evolution, and combining with the part typical non-direct interest conflict cases domestic during the recent decade, in this paper, the scale of crowd gathered, the crowd behavior means and the crowd behavior target as the main basis which divide the evolution and escalation stages of the non-direct interest of conflict event. And based on this, the course of evolution and escalation can be divided into latent stage, embryonic stage, outbreak stage (include non-violent used stage and violent used stage), calm stage and later stage. On the basis, through comprehensive and systematic collect the relevant information of the mass filtered out non-direct interest conflicts, we descriptive analyzed the non-direct interest conflicts’ process of evolution and escalation by the case study method; then, explore the key factors its evolution and escalation with the grounded theory method.Through the study, we find that all the non-direct interest conflict’s evolution and escalation have some common rules to follow, but there are some differences at the outbreak stage, showing three different evolution and escalation paths. And the study shows that the trigger event, the behavior of the government’s disposal, information of the three external factors and conflict groups, crowd psychology, social cognition of the three internal factors are the crucial influence factor of the non-direct interest conflict’s evolution and escalation; And among these factors, compare with ordinary conflict the trigger event shows obvious different characteristics, while these characteristics are the important factor which result in the non-direct interest person’s crowd and expand the scale of the event; the behavior of the government’s disposal and information are promote the escalation of the events to a certain extent; conflict groups are the important condition of the event’s complicate and magnify, participant’s social cognition as an intermediate bridge between internal and external factors is the basis of individual behavior, and under the influence of crowd psychology, the imitative of behavior result in the crowd behavior. Finally, based on the former study, with the help of the social conflict theory, social cognitive theory, the cluster psychological theory and other theoretic tools, study the dynamic mechanism of the non-direct interest conflict’s evolution and escalation, trying to explain how a small case rapid upgrade to a large-scale conflict event with serious destruction.
