Socialist Theory And Practice Of The CPUSA After The Cold War

During the growth process of nearly a hundred years, CPUSA has adhered to the theoretical guidance of Marxism-Leninism, established the extensive relationship with the unions and other social groups or organizations, united the working class and the oppressed people and represented their interests. As a member of the world socialist movement, CPUSA has contributed much to its development.However, the world socialist movement is still in the downturn period, after the Cold War, the world communist parties especially the communist parties in the developed capitalist countries has confronted difficulties. How the survival status quo of the CPUSA under the new situation? What about the innovation of theory and the political performance of CPUSA? These are all concerned about in the study.The book attempts, under the direction of the fundamentals of Marxism and Leninism, to focus on expounding and analyzing the socialist theory and practice of the Communist Party of the United States of America after the Cold War. This paper is divided into the following parts. The Introduction section analyzes the significance of the research theme, the current level of relevant research, the research contents and study methods, as well as some innovations and inadequacies of this paper.The first part simply describes the growth process of CPUSA and overviews the difficult situation and the new historical conditions from the USA and outside. First, this part briefly describes the raise and fall of CPUSA before the radical change of Soviet Union and East Europe, and its reestablishment after that. And then, this part analyzes the political and economic situation from the USA and outside.The second part mainly analyzes the new situation after the Cold War. According to it, CPUSA has made the adjustments in organization building, ideological building, and the establishment of media, etc. Through these strategies, it can achieve the objective of expanding its size.The third part is mainly about the analysis of the adjustment of the policy and path toward socialism that CPUSA chosen after the Cold War. On the basis of the analysis of the new feature of the capitalism, CPUSA emphasized the necessity of the democratic revolution and the class revolution. Currently, building the Anti-Monopoly Coalition is the main task. After that, it also made some suggestions for building socialism.The fourth part mainly expounds the political performance after the adjustment of the policies. It isn’t in the mainstream political parties, but it also promoted the political and social status of CPUSA through some actions as follows, participating the national elections, taking part in the international and parties’ meetings, making the response to political issues immediately.The fifth part is to analyze the main challenges and prospects which the CPUSA will be confronted with. The challenges mainly from three aspects: the new situation of the international development, the influence of the political, party system and traditional culture in the USA, and the limitations of the CPUSA. As far as the prospects concerned, the positive influence of the new social movement, the disadvantages of the capitalism and the innovation of the theory and its independence will promote the development of the CPUSA.All in all, as the epitome of the communist parties of the developed capitalism countries, the CPUSA is also the part of the world socialism movement. By studying the exploration of socialist theory and practice of the CPUSA, and analyzing the way of its innovation, in order to analyze the political and social status the CPUSA.
