Investigation On The Present Situation Of Social Supports Of Community Correction Objects

In recent years, social support has received wide attention of scholars in the field of sociology. Social support helps juvenile correction objects solve the problems and crisis of daily life, and maintain normal operation of daily life. The obtaining and use of social support resources is an indispensable technique of community correction. If social support is applied to juvenile community correction, the integration and full use of various resources could help juvenile correction objects integrate into society smoothly, achieving a better community correction effect. Juvenile community correction is still in the initial stage in our country, and many aspects of problems exist in social support of juvenile community correction. How to improve their social support is an urgent problem to be solved.Through qualitative research methods, taking 11 juvenile community correction objects in Fuzhou JA District as research objects and taking different phases of community correction as time clue, to analyze the main problems they faced at different times and social support status. To evaluate their community correction effect through the transformation in psychology and behavior and social resources utilization. From the effect of juvenile community correction objects, found that it is needed to offer them perfect social support. From the point of improving the juvenile community correction objects’ social support, found social work is necessary to participate. Lastly, considering the discovery and use of social support resources, explore the social support mode of social work to juvenile community correction objects.The study found that the more social support the juvenile community correction objects felt, the few problems they faced and the better effect of community correction. In contrast, the less social support they felt, the more problems they faced and the worse effect of community correction. The degree of perfection of social support is proportional to community correction effect. Perfect social support is a guarantee for community correction effect. However, the lack of social support resources, the weakness of social support power and low integration level are current social support situations of juvenile community correction objects are faced with at present. All these need social work with unique concepts and professional work methods to intervene in.Accordingly, this paper puts forward that social workers should play different roles in different stages of community correction, and should focus on improving specific social support of juvenile community correction objects in different stages of community correction. In the education period at the beginning of community correction, social workers play a role as service providers, resource acquirers, advocators to improve informal support of juvenile community correction objects, in the middle of education period, social workers play a role as service providers and policy influents to improve their formal support, in the end of education period, social workers play a supporting role to perfect their self support.
