Research On Xi Jin-ping’s Thought Of Cultural Construction

This paper elaborates Xi Jin-ping’s thought of cultural construction and mainly discusses the cultural construction thought of Central Committee of the Communist Party of China (CPC) headed by General Secretary Xi Jin-ping in broad sense. Since the 18th CPC National Congress, Xi Jin-ping, on the basis of scientifically grasping the characteristics of cultural development phrases in China, enriches and develops the thought of cultural construction of CPC with a series of new points, new ideas and new judgments. The deep understanding and grasp of the outstanding contributions made by Xi Jin-ping are of great guiding significance to the development road of the socialist culture with Chinese characteristics and the construction of socialist cultural power.The new changes in current situations at home and abroad have provided rare opportunities for the cultural construction in China and also brought severe challenges. The new situation and new requirement with the coexistence of both opportunities and challenges is the times background for the emergence of Xi Jin-ping’s thought of cultural construction. The development of Xi Jin-ping’s thought of cultural construction has basically undergone two phrases:the first phrase starts from the 18th CPC National Congress to the thirteenth collective learning of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee, and the topic of this period is to study and implement the spirit of the 18th CPC National Congress; the second phrase starts from the thirteenth collective learning of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee to now, in which period the thought was further expanded and deepened, and put into the practices of governance and cultural construction.Inheriting the cultural theories of Marxism and starting from the major practical problems of current cultural construction, Xi Jin-ping makes outstanding contributions to the cultural construction thought of CPC. These theoretical contributions are mainly embodied in:firstly, emphasize to set up new consciousness for strategic position of cultural construction, which involves three aspects, i.e. socialism with Chinese characteristics is rooted in the fertile soil of Chinese culture, great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation takes the prosperous development of Chinese culture as premise, carry forward spiritual civilization construction around the "Four-pronged Comprehensive" Strategy; secondly, grasp and emphasize key tasks of current cultural construction, which involves five aspects, i.e. take the national spirit rejuvenating and strengthening China as the cohesive force, take the cultivation and promotion of core socialist values as the basic project to intensify foundation, realize the creative transfer and innovative development of traditional Chinese culture, create excellent works living up to the great nation and the great times, boost the cultural system and mechanism innovation under the background of comprehensively deepening reform; thirdly, always adhere to the correct principles and policies of cultural construction, which involves three aspects, i.e., seek common points and reserve differences with other national cultures, learn experience from others, make ideological work as an extremely important work of our Party, establish people-centered work orientation.Xi Jin-ping’s thought of cultural construction has important theoretical value and practical significance. Theoretically, it is an important part of the cultural theory of Marxism and a vital component of the latest results of socialist theory with Chinese characteristics. Practically, it is the ideological basis to establish and adhere to the view of scientific culture, and the guide of action to advance the construction of the power of socialist culture. Xi Jin-ping’s thought of cultural construction must be deeply studied and implemented in practice in current and future periods. Therefore, it requires us to comprehensively and systematically grasp the scientific connotations of Xi Jin-ping’s thought of cultural construction, improve the consciousness to study and implement Xi Jin-ping’s thought of cultural construction, and combine Xi Jin-ping’s thought of cultural construction and practices of socialism with Chinese characteristics.
