Mao Zedong National Security Thought And Its Contemporary Enlightenment

National security is a big problem related to the survival of a country, with the acceleration of the globalization process, the financial crisis, transnational crime, disease, terrorism and other global issues has brought great impact on sovereign state’s national security. In order to deal with our country’s national security issues, Xi Jinping, the new leader of CCP, put forward the Overall National Security Concept, which including eleven aspects. The putting forward of these security concept absorbing the essence of generations of central collective leadership national security thought, in line with the actual needs of China’s current national security, is the guide of our country’s national security practices in the new period. On national security issues, as early as the period of new-democratic revolution, Mao Zedong has been thinking and practice, after the founding of the People’s Republic of China, Mao Zedong pay more attention to national security issues, and has accumulated rich practical experience in multiple areas, such as economy, politics, military, culture, and diplomacy. With the change of the times, although many aspects of Mao Zedong national security thought have not been in accordance with the actual needs of China’s social development today, but there are still many lessons that we can learn from, there are still many lessons need us to absorb. Based on this, this paper mainly divided into four chapters on the analysis of Mao Zedong national security thought, the contemporary practice of Mao Zedong national security thought were studied.The first chapter mainly analyzes the formation conditions and the formation process of Mao Zedong national security thought. This paper argues that the conditions for the formation of Mao Zedong national security ideology are diverse, there are both objective conditions and subjective factors, it is the inevitable outcome of the development of era, is the urgent needs of the people’s struggle, which include age, historical culture, theory, practice and so on.
