The Research On Development And Countermeasures Of Philanthropy In China

In recent years, China’s economy has developed rapidly, at the same time it also brings a series of social problems such as the widening gap between rich and poor and uneven development.To alleviate such social problems, we need to pay more attention to the development of philanthropy. Philanthropy is a lofty cause and bring a lot of benefit to the people and the society, Philanthropy as an important part of social security plays an important role in achieving the goal of building a harmonious society, it can effectively compensate the hole of national policies, enhance social welfare, promote fairness and efficiency.Develop philanthropy is a manifestation of the socialist political civilization and social progress,it is an inevitable need of social development under the conditions of market economy.Develop philanthropy is also an important tool to adjust the gap between rich and poor, easing social conflicts and maintain social stability.Nowadays China’s charity organization has developed quickly, the number has increased.But due to the late beginning, the system and the development of philanthropy are not well.China’s philanthropy has a lot of problems,such as:the relationship between government and charity organization is not clear, the legal system about philanthropy is not perfect, charity organizations are lack of capacity, public has a poor awareness of charity.These problems severely restrict the further development of philanthropy,so we need more research and practice to make it better.This paper is divided into five parts: The first part give a brief description of the background and the significance of the research. The second part is overview introduction of philanthropy and its related concepts. The third part analyzes main problems of the China’s philanthropy from three aspects:the government, charity organization and the public.The forth Part analyzes the development of American philanthropy and summarizes their good experience combine with our own situation.The fifth part give some feasible advice and countermeasure to improve China’s philanthropy, including make sure the role of the government in philanthropy,strengthen legal system about philanthropy,improve self-construction of charity organization and develop public awareness of charity.
