With the development of China's society and the strong support of national policies,a number of private non-profit organizations dedicated to optimizing the social structure have sprung up in various fields of society. How do such organizations absorb members and add new and old members? Adhesion? This paper attempts to answer this question from the perspective of rituals through the study of the Changsha Citizens' Nonprofit Organization,Organization A.This case study will enhance the understanding of people from all walks of life on the interactions and organizational management of non-profit organizations in non-profit organizations, and help to raise the public's attention to non-profit organizations. Therefore, this study draws on the "interactive ritual chain theory" created by American sociologist Randall Collins to analyze various ritual activities existing in organization A,trying to answer two main problems:(1)the operation mode of these ritual activities What are the basic elements, functional consequences, and motivational mechanisms?(2)How to explain the paradox in the case from the perspective of “interactive ritual chain theory”?The study uses case study methods to participate in various ritual activities of A organization, and strives for the authenticity and integrity of the data. The research finds that on the one hand, the two conditions for the successful initiation of the organizational interaction ceremony are the need for common actions and events. And short-lived emotional stimuli, while the continuation of follow-up interaction rituals relies on four basic elements: 1 group gathering 2 outsiders barrier setting 3 common level of attention 4 focus of emotional state of sharing. The dynamic mechanism relies on the high mutual attention and emotional connection of the ritual participants,so that the four functional results are smoothly generated through the ritual interaction: 1 The volunteers learned about the cultural concept, organizational mission, and volunteer star culture of the A organization. The volunteer star to which each volunteer belongs is the exclusive “membership symbol.” 2 generates symbols(sacred objects)that represent the group, such as specific instruments within the organization, common discourses, propaganda texts, propaganda vests, and specific poses.3 Formed a common sense of respect for group symbols and safeguarding the group's moral justice.4 Increased the “emotional energy” of volunteers. In this way, through the extension of time and the expansion of space, the new and old volunteers continue to participate in the organizational interaction ceremony to form a unique “interactive ritual chain.” This explains why successful interactive rituals can attract some volunteers to participate in the organization activities for a long time.On the other hand, the reason why some volunteers appear in the A organization less frequently after experiencing the failed, empty and forced ritual for the first time is because the existence of subjective and objective factors makes the different volunteers lack the participation in the A organization interaction ceremony. One of the interactive ritual factors,so that they get different levels of emotional energy. Finally, the following conclusions are drawn: 1 The network virtual community can indeed question the theory of interactive ritual chain in the absence of the interactive element of “the body is in the same place”,and the result can also achieve group unity and emotional energy, but its The effect is much weaker than "the body is present together." 2 Collins lacks uniform standards and logical contradictions for the definition of “emotional energy”.3 The interaction between high-energy volunteers and high-energy volunteers and low-energy volunteers does not follow Collins' s “differentiation model.” 4 How to transform the “emotional energy” and “membership symbol” that have a certain relationship Two of the most important resources and outcomes in the interactive ritual market?Based on the above research conclusions: the case study experience of this paper is combined with Collins' interactive ritual chain theory. On this basis, this study also reflects on the gains and losses of the "interactive ritual chain theory."...
