In order to break through the bottleneck of the limitations of natural resource and the fragile environment, it is crucial for China to develop its circular economy so as to achieve the economic civilization and ecological civilization. It is a fact that the current socio-economic development mode in China is facing the pressure from the limited natural resources and degrading environment quality. The high pollution disposal in China is causing huge economic losses and is undermining the foundation of its economic growth. Furthermore, the high consumption of the natural resources is also causing the natural resources to be depleted in a fast speed and consequently restrict the long term sustainability of the economic growth and will endanger the economic safety of China. In viewing of the pressures from the natural resources and the environment, we should modify the current industrial structure, optimize the energy consumption frame, and abandon the traditional reckless economic growth mode. We must explore a new economic growth mode to be featured with the Chinese characters. The new economic growth mode should put its focus on innovative industrial technologies so as to ease the restrictions from the limited natural resources and the degraded environment quality. In this way, this country can be developed in a fast and efficiency way. Therefore, we must carry a strategic vision to utilize new technologies to reduce the energy consumption and lower the waste disposal. It should never put the environment as a sacrifice to exchange for the short term economic growth. The concept of sustainability must be implemented in the entire socio-economic activities in China. In this way, it is possible to obtain a win-win situation for the ecosystem preservation and economic development.Based on the previous lessons and experiences, we must sincerely review and summarize those questions and issues we encountered during the development of the circular economy. We must recognize that our ideologies are still too conservative, we have insufficient theoretical support and we are lack of practical experiences and novel technologies. We are still poor in management and system operations and our system security is far from satisfactory. We need to overcome these difficulties so as to consistently improve the mechanisms that are supporting our nation’s circular economy. We must firmly push the circular economy develop onto a healthy, scientific, fast, and sustainable course.
