In the old society, the information flow was not smooth, it was not a prominent problemto protect the personal privacy. When the network age comes, however, the phenomena whichprivacy rights are infringed are gradually increasing. Even the humans are turned to bewithout any privacy in the face of the internet. The coming and development of the networkage has an enormous impact on the content, scope, invading measures of privacy rights, especially the infringements of privacy rights appear some new features. The online privacyrights cannot get adequate protection if we use the traditional protecting system under suchcircumstance. So it is imperative to strengthen the past protection level so that the onlineprivacy right can have a specific protection. In recent years, the study and exploration of online privacy rights has still been on aprimary stage in China, and the protection level of traditional privacy rights is weak indeed. As a result, it becomes more difficult and complicated to protect privacy rights in networkenvironment which is such a special field. In this essay, according to the analyses of theinfringement act in today’s China which is supposed to be the invasion of personalinformation, the writer proposes some existing problems and defects of the current protectingsituation. Obviously, there’s still a large gap when compared with western developedcountries in the protection. So when we want to find an adequate protecting mode of the protection on privacy rightsunder network environment in our country, we need to use the oversea successful experiencefor reference and combine our own situation at the meantime. European Union and Americaprovide us two modes: the legal regulation mode and the self-discipline mode. The legalregulation mode is more adequate to China because of the special national conditions, we canstart with the legal system, self-regulation and some supporting measures.
