Wenzhou Rural Clan Force Influences On Democratic Election

With the deepening of the rural grassroots democracy construction,the achievement at the same time, also accompanied by the emergence ofnegative factors, the permeability and intervention of clan to grassrootsdemocracy in the rural is the main factors.“The strength of the clan forceis mainly reflected the effects in rural political system whether it isimportant. Generally speaking, the clan forces are stronger, its role inpolitics is more active." Since China’s reform and opening up, Wenzhourural restored as a family as the main units of the dispersed mode ofoperation, rural economic recovers and develops constantly, clan and theclan concept also begin to recover to play an important role in the ruraldemocratic election. But clan, after all, is the product of the feudal culture,some of the feudal concepts have deeply rooted in people’s mind, thenegative impacts of clan culture still play important role. Some clan forces have strong feudal concept, once they control the situation of thecountryside，will produce very big negative impact in their village.The negative impact of clan in Wenzhou rural is more embodied indemocratic elections: each clan group in order to look for the biggestpolitical interest at loggerheads, interferes with the election, even violatesthe law, undermines the democratic life in the countryside, affects socialstability and the construction of new socialist countryside. Rationally andobjectively looking at the clan force’s negative obstacles and positiveeffects, leading the clan force plays its positive role in rural democraticconstruction are the important problems that facing China’s building inthe rural areas. The research of this paper begins from understanding thebasic situation of rural democratic election in Wenzhou, analysis theeffects of the clans in rural democratic election, studies of Wenzhou clansin rural democratic election，faces up the negative effects of Wenzhouclans that in rural democratic election and finally rationally puts forwardcountermeasures and suggestions to give play to the role of the clan inWenzhou construction of democracy at the grassroots level. This thesis isdivided into five parts.The first part mainly introduces the paper research’s background andthe significance of thesis, research the problem of sample selection andthe main research methods. This paper introduces the research status atcountry and abroad, finally introduces the thesis writing and research of weight，difficulty and innovation.The second part mainly is a general overview of the related conceptsand defines. This part defines the clan, the clan culture and clan force etcdefinition and concept, and briefly introduces the reasons of the existenceof clan.The third part based on the results of the questionnaire data, analyzesthe basic condition of the villagers, and detailed analyzes the positive roleand negative influences of clan force in rural democratic election.The fourth part, the author analyzes the reasons of Wenzhou clanforce why it involves in rural democratic election. The main reasons arethe clan kinship concept, lacking of oversight mechanisms, legal systemis not perfect and economic benefits etc.The fifth part, putting forward the suggestions and countermeasurespositively to deal with the influences of clan force which involve indemocratic election. Economic development is the foundation, the clanculture is added, and the system construction is the icing on the cake.
