On Lie Detection Technology In The Application Of The Crime Investigation

Ancient times, humans have been exploring varied ways to screen lies, and find out thetruth. In the ancient times, due to the low level of productivity, human cognitive level is verylimited; methods of lie-detection remained very subjective. With the improvement of humanproductivity levels, cognitive levels have been increased corresponding.With the modernpolygraph technology slowly developed, the accuracy of the polygraph conclusionsaccordingly have been greatly improved. After long years of continuous efforts of mankind,polygraph, subjectivism from ancient polygraph developed into modern high-tech means ofsubjectivism and objectivism combination polygraph.With the polygraph technology development, the improvement of the accuracy of thepolygraph conclusion, humans began to explore the polygraph technology used in criminalinvestigations. Polygraph technology is used in more and more countries and regions in theworld, and the field of application is also expanding. However, with the extensive use ofpolygraph technology especially used in the Criminal Field led to more and more questions.Similarly, polygraph technology is applied in China’s judicial practice more and morewidely and plays an important role especially in the criminal investigation. In recent years, thepolygraph technology began to be applied into the duty crime investigation and peopleachieved some success. However, because of the limitations of the polygraph technology, thepolygraph conclusion can not be used as evidence, as well as the corresponding normativesystems lag behind, procurator organs have some shortcomings. All of these result a lot ofproblems in Crimes Investigation practice which restricted its application in duty crimeinvestigations. Author tried to introduce the polygraph test and polygraph conclusion of thesystem through this article, summarized the characteristics, and discussed the feasibility andnecessity of the application polygraph technology in duty crime investigation by theprocurator organs. In connection with the Crimes Investigation practice and the actualsituation of China’s procurator organs, the author investigated specification and perfection ofthe application of the polygraph technology in the Crimes Investigation by the prosecutionand hoped polygraph technology can play a better role in the Crimes Investigation.
