Preliminary Exploration On Hainan Land Reform Movement In The Early Years Of New China

From the winter of1950to the spring of1953, the communist party of China led people to carry out the vigorous land reform movement in newly liberated areas, which becomes one of the most profound social and economic changes in China’s history. Due to the influence of overseas natural factors and other historical factors and social factors, Hainan land reform movement seems to be "slow half racket", it began in the spring of1951and ended in the summer of1953(except minority areas). The land reform movement in newly liberated areas after the founding of the PRC has a lot of experience, it is one of important and hot topics in the field of domestic and international historiography, and has theoretical value and practical significance, but in academia at present, the special research of Hainan land reform movement during this period has been modest.Therefore, this article mainly studies the land reform movement in the early1950s in Hainan. In this paper, I mainly use the literature research method, through the way of visiting or surfing the Internet to consult literatures and materials, collect relevant research journals, theoretical books, documents, etc. At the same time use the field investigation method to supplement the information, also use comparative analysis method to contrast the differences of land reform situations in China, in Guangdong and in Hainan, to have a systematic study for Hainan land reform movement during this period.This thesis is divided into six parts. The first part, a review of academic history for land reform in the early days on the foundation of research, analyzes the Hainan land reform’s research value, research ideas and research methods. The second part, describes the background of Hainan land reform movement during this period, namely the situations of the national land reform movement and Guangdong land reform movement. The third part, explains the situations and complexity of Hainan area before the land reform, and describes the preparatory works of Hainan land reform movement, and the specific process from pilot land reform to finished land reform. The fourth part, elaborates experiences and practices of Hainan land reform movement. The fifth part, analyzes the influences of Hainan land reform movement on political, economic and other aspects, affirms certain Hainan land reform movement achievements, evaluates Hainan land reform movement with practical and realistic attitude, and points out the existing deviation in Hainan land reform movement, thinks the experiences and lessons of Hainan land reform movement. The last part summarizes this paper, points out the deficiencies of this research.
