Research On Deng Xiaoping’s Ideology Of Equality

Since the reform and opening up, the socialist theory and system on our countryare undergoing the test of practice and evaluation of history with the influx of worldmulticulturalism and diversity thoughts. Equality is one of the values about China’sdevelopment of socialism, and also our country’s important goal to realize the socialismor communism. Nowadays, our country pay high attention to the value at18th CPCNational Congress, at the same time, we should also be aware that the realization ofequality is a difficult process which needs a long-term exploration for us. DengXiaoping’s ideology of equality is an important theory and practice experience in thedevelopment process of Chinese socialism. Therefore, deeply studying andsystematically summarizing on Deng’s equality thoughts can not only complement andenrich our Chinese socialism，but also provide an important theoretical guidance andaccumulate a rich practical experience for the realization of socialistic equality. Thisthesis amply disserts Deng Xiaoping’s ideology of equality in the following four parts.The first part discusses the ideological origin and theoretical basis of DengXiaoping’s ideology of equality. The equality thoughts from Chinese traditional culture,Marxism and Maoism supply it important theoretical basis.Collecting the concrete embodiments of Deng Xiaoping’s ideology of equality atthe new democracy period, between the period of the founding of new China and thereform and opening and the reform and opening period is the second part. This partshows its main performances on our socialist development road, which provideshistorical basis for the following summary.It studies the essential connotation and basic characteristics of Deng Xiaoping’sideology of equality at the third part. In the view of essential connotation, DengXiaoping’s ideology of equality is not only an organic unity of economy, politics,culture, etc, but also an organic unity of the means and goal. At the same time, it is notonly a dynamic balance of equality in both form and essence, but an effectivecombination of equality and efficiency. In the view of the basic characteristics, DengXiaoping’s ideology of equality is the result of the close combination of theory andpractice, the concrete unify of development view and equality view and the flexible useof universality and particularity.The last part analyses the historical limitations and contemporary values of Deng Xiaoping’s ideology of equality. On the one hand, Deng Xiaoping’s ideology of equalityhas historical limitations, namely, lacking of institutional guarantee in dealing with therelationship between the rich first and the rich later, developing unbalanced betweenurban and rural areas, producing deviation from the development process of generationsequality and inner-generation equality. On the other hand, Deng Xiaoping’s ideology ofequality not only inherits and develops the equality view of Marxism, enriches andimproves of Socialism theory with Chinese characteristics and provides the guidance forsocialist modernization construction in China.In the process of construction of socialist modernization, studying the DengXiaoping’s ideology of equality is advantageous to order its main content in differentperiod, summary its essential connotation and deepen the cognition about the corevalues of socialism.
