Deng Xiaoping’s educational equality thought is one important part of DengXiaoping’s Theory. For its deep historical and theoretical origin, the thoughtinherited and developed the fair view of Marx Education as well as the Maoismeducation fair thought. Extending from the Fairness concept in education field,education equality, which involves the equal education opportunity, the distributionof educational resource and so on, offers everyone the right to be educated. With theimprovement of national quality, people attach growing importance to education.Consequently, the thought gradually becomes a popular public concern in China.Drawing on the previous research, this paper explores the essential attribute ofDeng Xiaoping’s education fair thought in terms of inducting and deducting thehistory and theoretical origin、the rich contents and the features of the theory. Theessential attribute tells us that we pursue fairness is to maximal meet the materialand cultural needs of people and finally realize the education for all people’sdevelopment and people’s all-round and free development. We consider thatfulfilling the thought inevitably requires us to uphold the unification of efficiencyand equality. We should fully and accurately understand and grasp the spiritualessence of the thought. During the new period of education reform and development,inheriting and carrying forward the core of this thought has great importance forsolving the unfair education issues and maintaining and realizing the educationequality.
